Getting the silicone onto your denture and into your mouth QUICKLY, and then seating properly in your suction spot are the KEYS to getting your best fit!
There are 3 main things to remember in order for you to get your best fit with DenSureFit.
- Get the silicone onto your denture and into your mouth within a few seconds.
- Seat your denture properly in your suction spot.
- If you are still not snug after 1 applicator of silicone is applied, don't worry...you are normal. Most people with medium looseness require 2 applicators of silicone. Proceed to the Snug-Up application. Do NOT apply any more silicone to the palate. ONLY apply more silicone to the wall of the trough. See Quick Guide below.

EXPLANATIONS, ILLUSTRATIONS AND "OOPS!"
1. Get the silicone onto your denture and into your mouth within a few seconds. You must work quickly to get the silicone onto your denture and into your mouth so that it does not start setting up outside of your mouth. The DenSureFit silicone starts curing very quickly and you need it to spread thinly and evenly on your palate in its most fluid state, so focus on getting the silicone on your denture and into your mouth fast!

2. Accurately and firmly seat your denture into your suction spot while the silicone is setting up.

Find your suction spot
When you seat your upper denture after applying the silicone, it is CRITICAL that you fit your palate of the denture PERFECTLY to the roof of your mouth. This perfect match is ALWAYS going to be your starting reference point. This is what is going to give you SUCTION and a great fit! If this is "off", the whole reline will be "off". Then you have to peel it out and start all over.
Practice finding your SUCTION SPOT a few times before you start your reline!
How to find your suction spot?

Why does this work?
Your roof is not changing significantly. Your gums are. When your your palate of your denture fits the roof of your mouth perfectly during the 4 minutes/set-up seating time during the DenSureFit application process, the silicone in the trough/gum line will naturally travel to the voids that are causing your denture to be unstable. The silicone then supports your gum line in the proper place so that the denture stays flush against the roof of your mouth. This is how suction occurs.
Note: High rounded arches tend to get better suction than flatter less-contoured palates.
Seating your denture
Press your denture up into the ROOF OF YOUR MOUTH WITH YOUR THUMB. Press up towards the bridge of your nose and then press slightly forward to “hook” it in your suction spot. Crook your index finger over the bridge of your nose to hold it there. You will know where your SUCTION SPOT is when you get it into the place where it cannot move when holding it up there! Press UP and forward! Do not push it back towards your throat!
3. Apply the silicone to the WALL on the Snug-Up application, NOT the palate.
Don't worry if you are not snug after one applicator of silicone. Most people require 2 applicators. This is why the kit comes with 2 applicators of silicone. You may apply more silicone to the wall of the trough, but NEVER apply any more silicone to the palate. IF the back edge of the palate has any bare spots, you may apply a skinny line of silicone there to finish filling the back edge in. Then apply the rest to the trough.

Tips for trimming

Note that OVER-TRIMMING can ruin your fit.
- Only trim if silicone is loose/hanging/uncomfortable...or if you can see it when you smile.
- Only trim on the FRONT side of your denture. NEVER trim directly on top of the ridge. You will break your silicone seal.
- If you have excess silicone coming off the back edge of your palate, try to leave it there if it is not bothering you as it helps to seal the back edge. If you do feel like you need to trim the back edge, do not trim bluntly on the back edge. Leave a little bit of silicone and trim excess by angling the scissors AWAY from your denture, at a 45 degree angle. This will help to keep the silicone laying against the roof of your mouth for a seal.
